Bret Friday, MD, PhD Hematology/Oncology
Dr. Bret Friday found what he was looking for in the Duluth Clinic.
“I think the Duluth Clinic is a place that offers a great balance between lifestyle,
clinical practice, opportunities for research, great facilities and it offers a
lot of balance. ... I did look at other places besides here -- it offered everything
I wanted. I think there's plenty of opportunity here.”

Dr. Kenji Sudoh says he has a unique practice because of the Duluth
Clinic's innovative approach to orthopaedics.
“Surgeons like to be in the OR, that's what they love to do, and we (medical orthopaedists)
like to be in the clinic. So it's just a very nice relationship that we have in
the group.”

Darcey Stockland, MD Family Medicine
Dr. Darcey Stockland
appreciates shared call duties.
“Where I used to work, I was alone and pretty much on call 24/7 all week long and
weekends. ... I couldn't go on a hike with out worrying about will my pager be able
to be reached or will my phone be able to have a signal so I can call in. Here I
get to go home at night and not worry.”

Tina Hyser, MD
Family Medicine | |
Dr. Tina Hyser joined the Duluth Clinic-Hayward
because she wanted to have a “full-spectrum family medicine” practice in a small
town.
“All of the physicians and staff
in the community are focused on caring for patients. That makes it a wonderful place
to practice because when it really comes down to answering questions, we say ‘How
is this going to affect a patient? What is best for patient?' … It feels good to
be part of that system. That's why I went into medicine."

Frederick Harris, MD Neurosurgery | | Dr. Frederick Harris
and his wife were looking for four seasons and a safe community
to raise their children. In Duluth, they also found happy colleagues.
“(Winter) was one concern I honestly had when I came, but I've really learned to
enjoy winter and it's not nearly as bad as people think it is. We have a family
with young kids and we just want them to grow up in safe environment with a good
education system and it was very important for us to find a place where we could
feel comfortable.”
